The front desk efficiently schedules appointments and is very reliable. I truly enjoy the calming atmosphere during treatments, often accompanied by soothing music or relaxing white noise, which helps me drift into a peaceful rest. Highly recommend!

I must say Dr. Guo is the only doctor who has effectively treated my severe menopause symptoms. I am a patient from New Jersey, and three years ago, I had tried every acupuncturist in NJ, visited doctors in New York, and taken numerous medications for menopause. None of them worked. At best, I experienced slight improvement for a day or two, but the unbearable hot flashes, night sweats, and insomnia felt like an unending nightmare.Every night, I had to change my clothes at least three times because of the night sweats, it felt like being drenched in a downpour while sleeping. I canceled all my social activities because I couldnt handle the embarrassment of sudden hot flashes at a restaurant, turning red-faced and dripping with sweat in front of others.I have been under Dr. Guos care for the past three years. Balance Art Acupuncture is hands down the best acupuncture clinic in Northern Virginia area! I struggled with sciatica nerve pain for two years—sitting, standing, and even lying down felt like there was a fire burning under me. It severely impacted my IT work, forced me to quit track and field. Dr. Guos treatments have been life-changing. I feel like a new person and have even started training for marathons again. Run Guo is an exceptional acupuncturist. He is knowledgeable in both Eastern and Western medicines and apply this knowledge in diagnostics and right treatments. He is very attentive to patients needs, never rushes when patients who share with him their problems and concerns, and is always on time. Every room is equipped with everything hes ever needs to treat his patients: clean beds, bed covers, pillows, blankets, electrical stimulations, lamps. His front desk person, Iris, is as professional trying to help with appointments, reminding us many times not to forget them; always cheerful and friendly which creates a very special atmosphere in the office.

I was referred to Balance Art Acupuncture by a friend. Having lived in the DC area for many years, I’ve seen around 15-20 acupuncturists in an attempt to treat my chronic lower back pain, headaches, and severe insomnia. While many treatments provided some relief, none fully met my expectations. I initially came here with a “why not try” attitude, but Dr. Guo’s expertise and professionalism left a profound impression on me. Dr. Guo conducted a thorough assessment and patiently explained the underlying cause of my chronic pain, something even my orthopedic specialists had overlooked. His diagnosis, which was later confirmed by an MRI, revealed that the root cause wasn’t just muscle tension (as previous acupuncturists, orthopedic doctors, and physical therapists had suggested) but rather a deep-seated pinched nerve. Dr. Guo used acupuncture combined with electrotherapy to treat me. The acupuncture itself was not hurting at all, and with the electrotherapy, there was a slight sensation at the beginning, but it did not hurt. After several weeks of treatment, I felt a complete transformation—years of pain finally lifted in a way I had never experienced before. As the pain subsided, my sleep quality also significantly improved. I am incredibly grateful to Balance Art for giving me hope, and I will gladly recommend this clinic to all my friends and family.

I was looking for a tranquil and relaxed acupuncture experience. Upon entering the office suite at 10:15am, rock music was blaring through the speakers. I said to the receptionist, “Interesting choice of music,” she replied yes, it’s rock with a smile. Imagine the tension! Okay, moving on… it was hard to relax as the treatment space felt rushed with a high turnover of patients. Lots of feet walking back and forth in the halls during my session. Overall, its a little too busy for me. The acupuncture treatment was standard, and I hope for good results based on my concerns. This review is for the “new pt.” experience with Savannah.

I used to believe acupuncture was safe, until my experience at Balance Art left with severe nerve damage that I pray is not permanent. I was receiving treatments for a mild hand sprain and after my 5th session, I started experiencing sharp, severe pain on the edge of my hand, from my pinky up to my elbow. The pain is triggered by just a slight touch to the edge of my hand, and even upper movement of my elbow. It’s clear the whole nerve on my arm has been affected and I am now in agony anytime this arm is disturbed, rendering it immobile. Its been 5 weeks now and the pain does not seem to be getting any better. I didn’t bother going back because I didn’t want them talking their mistake away with more sessions, as if I could bear the thought of needles interjecting this now extremely sensitive area. I used to sing acupunctures praises and recommended it to all my friends and family as Ive had positive experiences in the past (with a different practitioner). But now I hope that nobody took my advice and I may never return.

Dr. Guo and Ms. Larissa Irons are the absolute best. I have been going so often that I finally bought a family pack of visits for working on a torn rotator cuff; going twice weekly. The reduction in pain and inflammation from acupuncture increased my mobility day-by-day. The treatment is relaxing and comfortable. Ms. Irons recently joined the practice and is hands-down the BEST therapeutic masseuse I have ever experienced. An intuitive healer, she has increased my mobility after only two sessions. Dr. Guo is a young acupuncture physician with excellent knowledge, skill and ability to treat a very broad area. I had my left leg numbed from the knee down due to a compresión stocking and my work. I saw my regular doctor and an orthopedist and nothing had worked. This was my first experience with acupuncture and I was rather nervous on my first visit. Dr. Run Guo greeted me and was very good about explaining the process. He also took his time in telling me what he was doing and he frequently paused to make sure I was comfortable. It worked! My symptoms were drastically reduced. This is a nice clinic. The staff are very professional. One day last month, I did not feel well and went to the clinic. The Dr. checked carefully and found more problems, like red rushes, body temperature, etc. The Dr. seems very experienced and point out the root that causes the problem. He gave me a bottle of herb medicine. After I took the medicine, I got recovered quickly. I recommend the clinic and the Doctor. If you wish your body get maintained nicely, this is a right clinic to go.

Run Guo is truly committed to helping his clients. Went in with a cervical disc herniation and I couldnt feel my left arm. Within 3 treatments the feeling in my arm was returning, and the pain was gone. No narcotics necessary!! Acupuncture, infrared lamps, cupping and Runs terrific bedside manner are the reason I continue to go and recommend him to all of my CrossFit friends.

The Chinese erbal formula that Mr. Run Guo has prescribed to me is fantastic. I have had an ongoing problem ( over ten years) ,and nothing seemed to help. The chinese herbs are a most! I did acupuncture in the past without them and I am seeing much better results this time by including the chinese herbs. The treatment is soothing and calming to my anxious mind. And I am experiencing hormone rebalancing as we focus on fertility support acupuncture. Before I was having chills in the day and hot at night. Now I am feeling a comfortable body temperature much of the time and no cold feet all the time! Wasnt really sure on what will happen other then I needed some relief to my discomfort. I had my right knee replaced and my Sciatic nerve and my calf muscle is hurting all the time. So when I met the Doctor he knew what he needed to do. He did treat both areas and to be honest my Sciatic discomfort is pretty much gone. My ankle and calf muscle needs more work and Ill return to treat these areas. Im still doing PT and I am sure having treatment will help me all around. Made me a believer and my wife want to give it a try too.

I’m very happy with Balance art acupuncture. Dr Guo is very knowledgeable and patient. I’m seeing him for acid reflux and stomach pain last few weeks. My pain reduced and I’ll keep seeing him to get that resolved. I highly recommend him.

Without Dr. Run Guo, my husband won’t be here with us today.About 11 months ago while we were visiting in Virginia, my husband suddenly had difficulty breathing and collapsed. No clog. Not stroke. All organs were in good condition. Just cardiac arrest with unknown reason.Due to more than 30 minutes lack of oxygen, his brain was severely damaged. All ICU doctors lost hope on him. Some even indicated he might not be alive getting out of hospital. The recommendation? Pull the life support and see how it goes. If he breathes, he survives. If he doesn’t, he dies.Lying in bed without any response when doctors asked him to open his eyes or to squeeze their hands, he maintained good conditions on all vital signs. He did not really need much help from the ventilator. When I talked to him, his toes wiggled and his feet waved, even under the bed sheet. He was trying to communicate with me. How can I agree to just pull the plug?His entire body was swollen. Not knowing if it would help, his younger sister and I decided to massage his soles following my brother’s instruction thru the phone call overseas. His toes and feet responded even more. And his feet’s were not as swollen after three days massage. Even Chinese pressure point massage by layman can help, why not try more advanced Chinese technique? I decided to keep him alive and try traditional Chinese acupuncture and herb.Even though doctors were not happy. I insisted to remove all morphine and fentanyl on him before the MRI on his brain was done. And shortly after all those were removed, he opened his eyes. As doctors expected, MRI showed extensive damage. Who cares?Acupuncture needles are not allowed in the hospital. Besides massaging him when I could, I asked massage doctor Dr. Sarah to help. He was stable and was ready to be discharged after 38 days. However, he would not be allowed to go home unless a primary doctor agreed to accept him as a patient. Fortunately, Dr. Stephen Kinney agreed to help. Even though Dr. Kinney warned me it could be frustration after frustration, I took him back to our temporary home in Maryland.Three days after we got home, Dr. Guo started driving to our home, at least twice a week, to treat my husband. He spent at least 40 minutes each way, rain or shine, for almost nine months.In these nine months, my husband goes from merely moving his feet a little bit and rolling his eyes a little bit to practicing standing up.My husband doesn’t need stretcher any more. He picks his own shirt in the morning. He talks a little bit. He tells you his opinion. He tells you he needs to pee or he is wet. He reminds you if you count your number wrong. He asks to do more exercise when the caregivers on duty are guys.As doctor Kinney said, acupuncture has helped my husband more than anything else. He has seen too many patients keep declining and declining. Yet my husband keeps improving and improving every day.Dr. Guo has never charged me extra for coming out to our home to treat my husband. And he treats me for free when I need help. He tries to help us as much as he can.We are grateful that Dr. Guo gives my husband a chance. Without Dr. Guo, my husband won’t be able to improve.Yuli

I went to see Dr. Guo a few weeks ago seeking for a relief of pains locating in my lower back and hip areas. I acquired these pains because of an incidence, in which I unwittingly moved and lifted an old-fashioned computer monitor that weighted more than what I could carry.
