CCRM IRMS - Jersey City

I recently went through the cryopreservation process at IRMS with Dr. Thompson. For something so daunting and at times emotionally taxing, the entire team really went above and beyond to make sure I was well-informed and taken care of. Every single staff member I interacted with during my consultation through retrieval was extremely pleasant and made this process much easier to go through. Any questions I had, including on financing or prescriptions, were promptly responded to. Appointments were easy to schedule around my regular working hours. The office feels new and modern and well-kept. If only all medical practices had the same professionalism and bedside manner! Highly recommend this office and doctor.

As a doctor myself receiving my medical care within network, I was more than disappointed about the lack of empathy and care from the nurse coordinators which are the people you spend the most time receiving information from regarding daily steps. While receiving written detailed information on a patient portal is helpful, speaking to a human being from time to time for important steps would be nice. The nurse coordinator, Milani Lorenzano relayed how many eggs I was able to retrieve on a patient portal like a text message. When I expressed that I would not like to receive such sensitive information through a patient portal, and would prefer a phone call, her response, again through a portal was “apologies, noted” which is a sorry excuse for an apology and extremely rude. There were also mistakes like sending me to the wrong location for bloodwork where I had to drive unnecessarily 45 min when I could’ve gone to the nearby location. While I appreciated my doctor who had great bedside manner, was empathetic and kind, I am hesitant to work with this group if I have to deal with the nursing staff. As a doctor myself, I cannot imagine having my patients receive life changing information over a patient portal. The lack of sensitivity was alarming.

I’m so happy this location recently opened! It’s located a block from the light rail so has been making my monitoring appointments commute super easy! The office is modern, clean and the staff are all friendly and supportive. Definitely recommend.

Dr. Thompson and her team were very welcoming and engaging. They made me feel very comfortable. They were very efficient with my time. The whole encounter made me feel more confident and less anxious about going through the IVF process again.
